Inthe New Testament book of 1 Corinthians, the apostle Paul mentions the three virtues together and then goes on to identify love as the most important of the three: And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13, NKJV) This key verse is part of a longer discourse sent by Paul to theOneof my favorite verses is 1 Corinthians 13:13 - "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." It's a short verse, but it is so powerful. It sums up what is most important in the Christian life. If I did not have these three things, and most importantly if I did not know and share the love of God, I would be completely lost. Havingconsidered several aspects of faith and hope, we turn to the theme of love. We should note first of all that, like holiness and truth, love has its origin in God's attribute of perfection. By it the Lord communicates himself, as so often expressed by his mercy and grace toward man (e.g., 2 Cor. 1:3; Eph. 2:4. Titus 2:11-12).
LearningFaith, Hope, and Love. May 7, 2015. by Jeanne Heiberg. In the cold, dark days of February, it's good to think about the theological virtues—faith, hope, and love. Let me explain. With nature asleep during the winter months, we need faith and hope that life will return—that spring will come. With more darkness in the balance of
Loveis the demonstration that faith is active in our lives, because love was the hallmark of the life of Jesus. When we love we are letting our faith in Christ demonstrate His love flowing through us. Our hope is for a world without sin, anger, tears, and heartbreak. In other words we hope for a world dominated by love.
Hopefastens on future happiness, and waits for that; but in heaven, faith will be swallowed up in actual sight, and hope in enjoyment. There is no room to believe and hope, when we see and enjoy. But there, love will be made perfect. There we shall perfectly love God. And there we shall perfectly love one another.

Faithis not a first step toward salvation—it is the whole banana. Faith is salvation - whole, complete and total - when it is given freely by God and with God's holy bond: fidem uistificantem (justifying faith). Faith is like a horse with blinders because it only beholds God's promise. It is obsessed with what God has already said.
andforgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one. Ask God for no more than our daily bread and for God to forgive our sins, as we forgive those who sinned against us. Then thank God, and praise, worship and love God. God knows best.
Thisis one of the traditions that we have started with our kids to do every year for Christmas. When teaching them that Christmas was about celebrating Jesus' birth they said, "He needs a birfday cake!" so now He gets a birthday cake every year. They love it and we enjoy singing Happy Birthday to Jesus.
